Review: Courtyard by Mariott Kochi Airport

Prologue
My brother and I had a hard time deciding which hotel we should opt for, near Airport as he had early morning flight to travel back to hometown. We finally saw a good sale running on Courtyard by Marriott and decided to check in. Hotel provides free pickups and drops to Airport.

When you enter hotel lobby from entrance.

Hotel has a huge lobby with lot of space for seating.

Check in

The girl at the counter (I forgot her name) could recognize me because of my stay at JW Mariott Mumbai Sahar. She tried to make everything as comfortable as possible. The staffs in the hotel offered me Lime water as welcome drink. We were entitled to upgrade but they didn’t have any Executive room with Twin beds. We had to settle for their Deluxe room as it was the only room where we could get a Twin bed.

Room

Courtyard has a huge and quiet foyer and it makes one’s stay little private.

Foyer

We were assigned room 121

The room is cookie cutter Courtyard room. There is a sensation of wooden finish when you enter the room. Room’s size is average. You see sofa when you enter. They have put switch board to automate room controls

Shower view from the bed. They do have binder that can provide privacy if needed

The glass’s quality is good and you can definitely enjoy TV while using Shower.

View
There is basically no significant view from the room and you just see the road below.

Bathroom
I loved the Bathroom. The rain shower inside is comfortable for a bathe. It had got huge sink which makes shaving comfortable. Towels were neatly rolled.

I admire the idea of a totally separate cabin for Toilet. It is rare to see that.

Separate Cabin for Toilet

Big comfortable sink

Rain Shower

Separate Tap for normal shower and Rain shower.

They had rain shower. Pressure of  water, sprinkling  from shower’s orifice,  was really good.

Toiletries

Mariott used IGNIS toiletries. I found them as average. They were not blended with proper fragrance and didn't make my experience, of shower, any better. However, they had everything from vanity kit to dental kit all of which were present inside bathroom.

Amenities

Didn't get chance to try any.

Food/ Buffet

We usually go for the evening meal and I find spread at this hotel very limited. My brother decided that instead of paying Rs 1200 plus taxes for the food, we should just order some ala carte food. Thanks to the lady at check in, we were given 50% off on bills and we could eat any of the desserts from Buffet if we desired.

I tried Vegetarian Allepey Mixed vegetables. It was fabulous and I would love to eat it again somewhere.

Again this is a rookie’s mistake, I am not able to find pictures of buffet breakfast I had at the hotel. Basically I am a vegetarian and I had a few options to eat. Only things I could use were hash brown, idli, dosa and uttapam. I am not impressed by their spread for sure. They had 2 types of cheese. There were some veggies salad and yogurt.

Conclusion:
Overall it is a good hotel if you have a flight the next day to somewhere. The main city is very far from the Airport.  I won't recommend this hotel for your luxurious stay.
